Why organic?  Isn’t all meat the same?

Unfortunately in our society of mass producing everything, and going for bigger, better yields we are actually hurting ourselves.

Why is it bad for animals to be fed hormones?

The animals are fed hormones to make them grow bigger, faster.  Is it any wonder why kids are also growing bigger, faster?  Kids are going through puberty at increasingly early ages.  These hormones are being passed to our children so they to grow bigger, faster.

Why are animals fed anti-biotics?

Animals are fed antibiotics because they are raised in farm (factories) where they have no space to move around.  This lack of exercise has led to less healthy animals.  Because of the tight living quarters disease can also spread rapidly.  Antibiotics are extremely over prescribed in the US, however, more antibiotics are given to animals that we eat, than are given to humans.  If you are eating non-organic chicken, beef, and pork you are taking antibiotics without realizing it.  This over use of antibiotics is why they do not work as well as they used to.

Does what the animals are fed make a difference?

When you are driving along and you see a field full of cows it reminds you that cows are meant to eat grass.  Grains are fed to animals to fatten them up quicker.  Just like in humans, the more grains you eat the more weight you gain.  Look for meats that are Free-range.  This means that they were able to walk around and eat what they found (grass, etc.).
