Mom always said don’t forget Breakfast

Breakfast is great because it gets you body’s metabolism off and running to start the day.

If you skip breakfast the body thinks there is a food shortage and goes into conservation mode and doesn’t burn as many calories.

If you skip breakfast you are also starving by lunch time, so you tend to eat more than you should and you become less conscious of eating a good lunch vs a lunch that “fills you up.” You will often eat more calories for lunch than you would have if you had eaten a good breakfast and a good lunch combined.

What is a good breakfast?
Donuts or other sweet baked good, sugary cereal, fatty pork products, or highly processed carbs such as pop tarts or granola bars, unfortunately are not good choices.

Ideally shoot for a nice combination of protein and complex carbohydrates.
Proteins: eggs, steak, almond butter
Carbs: oatmeal, whole grain cereals, sprouted grain toast, bagels, or English muffins

It is also good to get natural healthy fats such cooking eggs in olive oil, using butter instead of “butter substitutes” or from nuts such as almonds.

It is ok to have fruit for breakfast but try to have nutrient and fiber dense fruits such as black, blue or rasp berries.

Get your day started right and eat a good breakfast. It will give you more energy and the metabolism boost will help you lose weight.
